Home is a sanctuary…

It’s a place where you rest, practice a hobby, raise a family, start a business, relax, or just generally enjoy yourself. But it’s also a project, an investment, an expression of what you want to do with your life. And yeah, it can be a pain in the ass—even the handiest among us don’t enjoy that much maintenance—but more than anything else, home is a reflection of the person who lives there.

At (614), we spend most of our time covering the city you live in—the people, places, events, and narratives that make Columbus great. Now, we’re focusing more closely on the home front: introducing 614 Living, a monthly section devoted to stories and advice about the way we dwell. We aim to cover a wide swath of topics, from helpful kitchen hints to DIY projects to renovations to a glimpse inside the city’s most interesting homes, big and small.

Our inaugural package showcases that variety. There’s a story about tiny living, advice for home lending and lawn care, and a look inside a modernized Olde Towne East estate with a world-class arcade. It’s just a taste of what we have planned for the coming months, but it provides a fitting hint of how Columbus is living right now.
