Alright, so maybe you don’t have a cotton candy machine in your home bar, but you can throw some candy canes in some high-proof booze for awhile, right? See? There’s your candy cane tincture. Just like that, you’re playing in the big leagues. Nicole, bar director of Delaware’s Veritas Tavern, took the seasonally appropriate candy cane challenge from Sean Ward and ran with it. And then she ran and ran and ran some more. Try and keep up.

2 oz. batter (egg yolk, egg white, sugar, house allspice dram, and candy cane tincture)
2 oz. brandy
1 tsp. house ancho hot chocolate powder
1 tsp. instant coffee granules
1 tsp. candy cane powder
3 oz. frothed cream
1 oz. house Irish cream
Garnished with Alinea-inspired chocolate, candy cane cotton candy, and candy cane bark.
