Brewery Beat

Elevator Brewing will celebrate their 15-year anniversary with a party and special bottle release at their Fourth Street brewery and taproom on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 12 – 8 p.m. Columbus Brewing Company was recently awarded two medals at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver: bronze for Bodhi and gold for Creeper, notably topping the famous Pliny the Elder from Russian River Brewing.

No Stone

Stone Brewing Company will be opening their East Coast brewery in Richmond, Virginia—not Columbus, Ohio—it was announced last month. Stone, whose co-founder was born in Ohio, says the decision was based on two primary factors: a better location for the brewery and restaurant in Richmond, and – probably more importantly – a few million dollars more than Columbus offered in tax incentives.

Bottled Up

Sideswipe Brewing released bottles of a new fall seasonal called Squashing Pumpkins that will really “flip your gourd.” Actual Brewing debuted Wiener-München, an unfiltered festival ale also around only for autumn. Zauber Brewing announced plans to bottle their first beer, a Belgian-style holiday ale, but they’re barrel-aging it to be released next year.
