Local chefs show off their talents to benefit the entire community

Columbus, OH – Dining aficionados and new foodies alike will sample a wide range of the best local gastronomy for discounted prices, July 21-26th, 2014. More than 90 restaurants will create special three-course menus to show off their chefs’ talents during Restaurant Week Columbus. Whether it’s a Columbus staple, a restaurant shaking things up or someone new on the scene, it’s a perfect opportunity to try places you’ve been putting off – and with $5000 going to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, the whole community benefits. Here’s a look at some of the movers and shakers for this event:

Aab India has become a Grandview beacon for lovers of Indian cuisine over the past few years, so much so that a brand new one has popped up in Dublin on Sawmill Road just in time for Restaurant Week. And as always, there’s plenty of delicious curry.

A meal at Hyde Park is a lovely evening out, case-closed. The clubhouse style on Olde Henderson Rd, or hip patio and bar scene at the Cap, they always excel in service and steak. Think the new concept, Black Point, will star on the next Restaurant Week bill?

With Columbus’s riverfront undergoing a facelift, this week is the perfect time to take in the view at The Boat House at Confluence Park. Dining and drinking at the meeting of the Scioto and Olentangy, and under the gaze of the city skyline.

This “Jewel of the Mile” allows Columbusonians to have an entirely different view of the their city. With Milestone 229’s stunning seating that manages to be both grandiose and comfortable all at once.

The beloved booze bistro at the corner of Third and High makes a bold move to reinvent their space and offerings. Before former executive chef Chef Marcus Meacham left, he spent months pushing the boundaries of Bodega’s menu – in-house smoked chicken, grilled or deep fried and a selection of soulful sides. Quick and easy, yet so tasty.

Speaking of Chef Meacham, new to the scene is a concept run by Michael and Louie Pappas of Tommy’s Diner and Milo’s Deli. Heading up the kitchen is Meacham. Local food hero, North Market’s Thrilla at the Gorilla competition winner, and this month will appear on Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen. Haven’t tried his menu yet? It’s the perfect time to head to Powell to taste the new Krafthouse No. 5.

Just a short stroll from Elevator Brewery, Wolf’s Ridge has embraced a concept that departs from bar-centric brewpub fare and focuses on a neo-American approach to dining – with beer along for the ride. Not following? See it for yourself this week.
