Q: Skinny tie, fat tie?
DS: I would say, medium tie. I didn't get so into the skinny tie thing. I kept saying that was going to go out of style. It lasted and lasted; I may have missed it on that one. We didn't go big on the skinny tie thing.

Q:Windsor knot, or four-in-hand?
DS: Windsor.

Q: Always?
DS: Most of the time. The common wisdom is, the wider-spread the shirt is, the fatter your knot ought to be, but look at the British royals: they wear the widest spread collars you are ever going to see, with these skinny little knots, and it looks fantastic...a lot of it has to do with how fat your face is. Or how chiseled, I guess.

Q. Neatly groomed, or a bit askew?
DS: You never want to look like you put too much effort into getting dressed. You want to look like you threw it all together, and it still looks great.

Q: Number one mistake?
DS: The biggest mistake people make is, they are too scared to step out of the fashion comfort zone...I like this, or I like that, and they don't want to push it. I push them. You gotta break your own rules sometimes; everyone sets their own rules, but you have to get away from that sometimes.
