Mark Fazzina has made a career out of recruiting some of Columbus' most notable accountants and financial advisers for downtown's Executive Search Partners. Filling both regional and national positions, Fazzina uses his past experience as a CPA and financial lender to guide him in making the perfect match between company and employee. The decision to be self-employed came after years in the corporate world, a career change he couldn't be happier about.

On any given day, you may find him playing doubles at Goodale Park, or working out at the Athletic Club of Columbus. Not one to rest on his laurels, Fazzina took a break from his schedule to talk fashion with (614) between a photo shoot scheduled in Indianapolis (he models) and a board meeting in Marietta (he's also a member of the Marietta College Alumni Board). Here, Fazzina wears separates from Merona and a pink striped shirt from Express Men. Foregoing the tie, he accessorizes with a belt from Kenneth Cole and, his personal favorite, the pocket square.

What do you appreciate about fashion?

I guess I appreciate that it's another way to express yourself and your personality. I like that everyone doesn't dress the same and you have to find your own "style" and what works for you in your life.

Do you have an "on the job" uniform?

It really varies - in any given week I will be in everything from workout clothes, to jeans, to business casual, to a suit. It all depends on what I have going on that particular day. Working for myself, I have the flexibility and freedom to determine what I wear. I wouldn't give that up for anything.

Tell us a bit about your personal style.

I think my style reflects my personality and lifestyle. If I were a house, I would probably be called transitional or modern. I'm conscious of style and what's "in" but I also love things that I consider timeless - a great suit, jeans, white dress shirts, cool black shoes. One of my favorite designers is Kenneth Cole. I love clothes, but I'm also price-conscious. In Columbus, I can find great stuff at Express, Rag-O-Rama, Eclectic, Banana Republic, and TJ Maxx. The downtown Marshalls carries a lot of Calvin Klein, Ben Sherman, Guess, and Adidas - all of which I love. I even have a couple nice suits from Target. I go to DSW for shoes. When in Chicago, I like Nordstrom Rack and the Lincoln Park consignment stores.

How would you compare Columbus fashion to Chicago style?

I think the women in Columbus have great style - men not as much, which is the same in Chicago. I spend a lot of time there and if you go downtown, the style is great - but get out to Lincoln Park on a Saturday night in the summer and it's guys in cargo shorts and Cubs hats.
