Bad news for SITC2 fans. You're going to have to get your cosmos somewhere other than Martini Park. The Easton location (3948 Easton Way) is no longer with us. Now I guess that if you still want to visit a "playground for grownups," you'll just have to go to Goodale Park after dark like everyone else.
Good news for Kitchen Little fans. The North Market stand (59 Spruce St.) is set to reopen on July 4th. The operation has been closed this past month to spend time "catching up on some stuff." Now I can finally get a good cassoulet again.
Do you love flavored tobacco from free-standing shared pipes? Do you like sports? Are you xenophobic and/or think that everything from the Middle East stands for terrorism? Well you are in for a treat. Smokin' Buckeyes is the new and only Americanized hookah bar in Columbus. You can find it in the University City Center Plaza (Olentangy River Rd.) located conveniently next to NYOH's - the western bar.
Also new in the University City Center is Cafe Kabul (2831 Olentangy River Rd.). The Afghani restaurant will feature both traditional fare (think Mediterranean kebabs) and more familiar dishes (gyros and chicken sandwiches).
The old gas station next to Ravari Room (corner of N High St. and Dodridge St.) is going to become a new and possibly epic gas station with food options as well. Turkey Hill is a subsidiary of Kroger and not related to the Martha Stewart brand (or is it?).
Bono Pizza is returning to the Short North. The specialty pies will be baked in the Short North Tavern kitchen (674 N High St.) on Mondays and Tuesdays. The same hours will be held Wednesday to Saturday at the Grandview location (1717 Northwest Blvd.).
Mouton (954 N High St.) should be up and running by the time you read this. The Short North location will offer all the yuppie faves; espresso, cured meats, high end cheeses, cocktails and fresh breads. Yes, I am aware that these are my favorite things.
Come September there will be much rejoicing by Spinelli's Deli fans. The Victorian Village staple will be adding a new location downtown (50 N High St.) in the old Otero's spot. This location will include breakfast and lunch items as well as a take-home dinner menu. Fresh pastries and locally roasted coffee just in time for fall (hopefully).
