Arthritis Foundation Classic Auto Show & Cruise-In

For 28 years, this car show has been rolling into Columbus. This year, Phil Dirt & the Dozers will provide some tunes while car owners show off their best automobile babies. Judged classes include everything from the old, like really old skool Pre-War Convertibles & Hardtops, to today's hopped-up Pro Street & Modified Convertibles & Hardtops, with categories for specific makes as well.

Go Wild! for Opera at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

Date: July 11
Time: Patron dinner 6 p.m., Concert 8 p.m.

The sixth annual concert, "Operetta Under the Stars," will feature Columbus' stellar singers performing favorites from composers Gilbert & Sullivan, Rogers & Hammerstein, and more. Emceed by Cabot Rea and Chuck Gillespie, the romantic, melody-filled evening benefits both the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and Opera Columbus.

Bike Columbus Festival

The third annual Bike Columbus Festival takes places over three days all around the capital city. On July 16th, Mayor Coleman will lead a 20-mile family ride to emphasize his belief in an active lifestyle. The following day, the Steve Barbour Memorial Ride will pedal its way through gorgeous Hocking County. This tour, which has a variety of distances to choose from, supports the Columbus Outdoor Pursuits and Consider Biking Steve Barbour Memorial Fund, which promotes bike safety and education programs. Following up on August 1st, serious riders will engage in a premier race featuring cash prizes for the winners. All proceeds from this non-profit race are donated to the Garrett Wonders Memorial Fund established by his family to promote cycling safety and fund an Ohio State University cycling scholarship.

Movies, Martinis, and Ms-Behavin'

Benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, this girls' night out features a screening of Mamma Mia, marvelous martinis, a best "worst bridesmaid's dress" contest and much dancing to the infectious tunes of ABBA.

AIDSWALK Central Ohio 2010

Date: July 24
Time: Registration & Exhibition 7:30 a.m., Walk Kick-Off 8:30 a.m.
Admission: None, each walker encouraged to raise $25 in donations
Location: Walk begins and ends at Franklin Park Conservatory (1777 E Broad St.)

When the AIDSWALK Columbus started over two decades ago, the event was limited to local Columbus agencies. Today, the renamed AIDSWALK Central Ohio is the largest HIV/AIDS awareness event in the Franklin County area and benefits Franklin, Delaware, Licking, and Union Counties. Go online and register to walk individually, or sign on with a group and turn the day into a party!
