Dozens of Columbus restaurants will feature three-course, fixed-price menus, from $15 to $35, from July 13 to July 17, enabling diners to try some of the city's best restaurants at heavily discounted prices.

"It's a great deal for both the restaurants participating and guests looking to get a great meal for less." said Doug Griggs, co-owner of Columbus Brewing Company.

CBC is one of many restaurants excited to welcome new guests; other restaurants include: The Rossi, Trattoria Roma, Cimi's Bistro, The Lost Shepherd, Vittoria Ristorante, Level, Haiku, Sage American Bistro, The Melting Pot, Smith & Wollensky Steakhouse, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, Rosendales, Morton's The Steakhouse, Moretti's of Arlington, Mitchell's Steakhouse, Mezzo Italian Kitchen, Matt The Millers Tavern, Lindey's, Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse, Columbus Fish Market, Columbus Brewing Company and Bel Lago Waterfront Bistro.

Additional restaurants are expected to participate prior to the July 13 start date. Diners may view a list of participating restaurants and menus online at restaurantweekcolumbus.com

Restaurant Week started in New York City in 1992 and has become one of the city's signature bi-annual events. Since then, the concept has spread to dozens of other cities and has grown significantly in popularity in the last few years.

"We did some research and saw that there hadn't been one in Columbus in nearly a decade, and thought, 'wow, this is a really great idea.' Something that, as a new community magazine, we could really sink our teeth into...literally!" said Wayne T. Lewis, (614) Magazine publisher. "I know many people that will be eating out every night that week, myself included."

Restaurant Week Columbus is making a $5,000 donation to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank on behalf of (614) Magazine and participating restaurants.

"We are really excited about it," said Claire Badger, Director of the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. "This help is really going to come in handy. The number of people coming to our pantries has increased by 39 percent in the last two years, and a lot of the families are first-time users."

The Mid-Ohio Food Bank is able to provide $8 worth of groceries for every $1 of donation received, according to Badger. "So that $5,000 is going to feed a lot of people," she said.

Restaurant Week Columbus is organized by the publishers of 614. It's promoted by local sponsors including CD101, NBC4, WOW! Cable, UWeekly, Grey Goose Vodka and community partners such as Experience Columbus, Columbus Young Professionals and the Short North Business Association.
