Film: What’s in a Name?

Mondays, July 10-31, at 6:30 p.m.  Heroines are the focus in this intriguing series of Hollywood movie character studies held at the Grandview Heights Public Library. Admission is free!

Here’s the lineup:

7/10 Mildred Pierce (1945) – Experience the Criterion remastering of this all-time great murderous melodrama starring Joan Crawford.

7/17 Stella Dallas (1937) – Classic 1930s tearjerker featuring one of Barbara Stanwyck’s greatest roles.

7/24 Jeanne Eagels (1957) – Screen legend Kim Novak plays the not-so-legendary title character, a silent film actress.

7/31 Harriet Craig (1950) – Joan Crawford plays a character of questionable morals who eventually gets her comeuppance.
