It’s not entirely about pattern. Texture can be just as powerful when strategically used. A distressed neckline, a nonchalantly rolled cuff, the ribbed knit of a sweater and the fur on a coat juxtaposed against sleek and fluid metal jewelry creates beauty in the polarization of opposites. The detail of a half-tucked shirt, a brooch pinned at the collar, or the less traditional bolo tie, add a feeling of modernity while preserving a sense of personal style. Texture is the whisper used to create something big without having to shout it out loud.
Isn’t that what we all want?
