Inspiration: I love studying subcultures and their eventual effect on the majority. John Lennon took his experiences from the beat culture of red-light district Hamburg and made one of the most successful bands of all time. Psychedelic culture of the late 1960s led David Bowie and Iggy Pop to break barriers of sexuality and gender by kick-starting the age of glam rock in the early 1970s. Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground weren’t a huge success in their time, but caught wind in the punk movement of a late’ 70s United Kingdom, and are now credited as one of the most influential bands of all time. Subcultures have a funny habit of overlapping and resonating beyond their intended walls. It shows just how impactful a few capable minds can be.
In 10 years I’d like to be: Heard.
