Anew job uprooted Dan and Stef (Seger) Mize from their beloved city seven months before their Big Day, yet as a parting gift to their adopted hometown, they threw perhaps the most Columbus wedding of all-time. And perhaps the most patriotic, too.
The couple who both went to school in Columbus, met in Columbus, and had their first “date” at Red, White and Boom, followed by a walk in Schiller park, doubled down on that anniversary—and America’s birthday—pulling out all the stops to put a local touch on just about every corner of their wedding day. The dessert table specifically was a love letter to Columbus—mini pies from Honeykiss, with stars, flags, and lattice-work crusts, a cupcake tower from Resch’s Bakery, Fourth of July cookies from Cheryl and Co., and in place of cake, Jeni’s pints delivered right to the venue.
They even held their rehearsal dinner during a Columbus Clippers game, treating their out-of-town guests to a reserved deck at Huntington Park, where the bride and groom had it arranged to go head-to-head in the on-field bobble head competition. (The bride won).
Capping off the reception at the historic Westin, the newlyweds took in a breathtaking view of the Red, White, Boom fireworks finale. It doesn’t get more celebratory—or Columbus than that.
