Brewery Beat

Temperance Row Brewing has opened in uptown Westerville—its name a nod to the neighborhood’s prohibition past. The brewery employs Scott Francis, original brewmaster at both Columbus Brewing Company and Barley’s Ale House, as its brewmaster. Pigskin Brewing is planning to open this month in Gahanna. The brewery will have a sports-themed focus (as you may have guessed from the word “Pigskin”) and will offer a starting lineup of four brews.

Liquored Up

Watershed Distillery added the first new liquid to its lineup in two years—a seasonal spirit, Nocino, a traditional Northern Italian liqueur. The distillery will host a Nocino launch party on December 5 from 5 – 8 p.m. Utica Ohio-based Mill Street Distillery also debuted a new product last month, a grappa, which is made from distilled and purified grape mash. Both spirits are available at select state liquor stores in central Ohio.

Cbus Cider 

Mad Moon Craft Cidery debuted last month with their Unglued Caramel Apple Cider, and plans for other varieties in the works including a hopped cider. Mad Moon is available in 12-ounce bottles and on tap at select retailers in central Ohio.
